RARE MELODICO REINTERATING PIANO MUSICAL MACHINE
It is very seldom indeed to offer one of these very rare hand powered mandolin piano instruments and especially in a deluxe floor upright case such as this one. The very few I have seen are always in a table model format. These Italian made instruments were sold world wide in the 1890's and played special 30 key folding musical books by means of a hand crank driven action. As the book folds into the reader, a beautiful mandolin/piano like melody is produced. This instrument comes with 10 musical books with some playing for several minutes a piece because they are several feet long when folded out. There is much information about this fascinating machine on pages 360 and 361 in Bower's Automated Musical Encyclopedia. Although this machine breaks down easily, when assembled as shown, it measures 35" wide by 18" deep by 33" tall with the lid down. If you collect very rare automated mechanical musical instruments, don't miss this one as it could be years, if ever, that one is available again. Priced at $6,500.00 with several musical books. I offer direct airport pickup shipment only world wide. Before bidding, be sure an airport is convenient to go to as I ship many items this way at great savings to the buyer. There is a lot less chance for damage as well and I will crate and pack it up myself. All international customs, duties, taxes are the responsibility of the buyer if outside the US.
Please listen how it sounds
TRIOLA MECHANICAL PAPER ROLL ZITHER MUSIC BOX!!
If you ever wanted a very rare and novel mechanical musical machine that will give years of enjoyment, here it is: Paul Riessner's Triola Automatic Mechanical Zither. These fascinating rare machine used paper rolls and when cranked would play off of a set of 25 strings. The operator could also strum the base note groups to further embellish the music. While the roll is being played, a small number is printed along the left edge of the paper roll, one through six. You would then strum the base strings with a guitar pick or fingers as the roll dictated. The cord groups are numbered by the string groups on the zither. With a little practice, you can become the center of the party! These date from the 1910's and 3 rolls come with it. It is full page featured in Bower's Musical Encyclopedia on page 356.They are rarely for sale and I have had only two so don't miss this one.
Priced at $2,500.00. Shipping in the US is $40.00 insured.
ANTIQUE VICTORIAN SINGING BIRD MUSIC BOX AUTOMATON!
This is a very rare Griesbaum automated mechanical singing bird that operates by the push of a button! After the mechanism is wound up, you turn on the switch, the lid top pops up, a miniature colorful feathered mechanical bird pops up, begins to flutter around turning a full 360 degrees while singing and chirping all the while. It does this for several seconds, then like a flash, the bird pops back inside the mechanism and the lid top closes up. On a full winding. It will operate several times before a rewinding is necessary. It is entirely original and works perfectly every time. Do not miss this fabulous piece which generally sell for several thousand dollars, but this one has a very low price of $2,475.00. This is my first in 33 years. Shipping in the US is $25.00 insured.
